JUST NOW: Red Sox Are The Appropriate Landing Spot After Former All-Star Hosted A Throwing Session For Clubs

Should the former All-Star pitcher who can throw hard be called up by the Red Sox?

The Boston Red Sox appear unwilling to spend the necessary money to acquire a front-line pitcher, despite the fact that they need to bolster their starting rotation.

Despite this, Boston may decide to add players to the rotation. The Red Sox may be able to afford a few of the better mid-tier options available.

Before Spring Training arrives, Boston needs to add one or two starters at the very least. Michael Clevinger, Michael Lorenzen, Noah Syndergaard, and Hyun-Jin Ryu are a few of the elite mid-tier choices that are still open.

Despite having a difficult 2023 campaign, Syndergaard might be a worthwhile addition to Boston. Robert Murray of FanSided claims that the former All-Star dazzled interested organizations during a bullpen session.

“Free-agent pitchers Michael Lorenzen and Noah Syndergaard threw bullpen sessions for about 16 (Major League Baseball) teams in California on Tuesday, sources say,” Murray stated. “In the throwing sessions, both players performed admirably; Syndergaard frequently sat between 93 and 95 mph…

After a season in which he appeared in 88.2 innings for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cleveland Guardians, Syndergaard, 31, is coming off the field. According to insiders, the Pittsburgh Pirates are among the teams showing interest in signing him to a one-year prove-it deal.”

Despite having a difficult season the previous year, the hard-throwing righty is a potential rebounder who might be gotten for a low price. In his 18 outings with the Dodgers and Guardians during the previous season, he posted a 6.50 ERA. With the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies in 2022, Syndergaard had a 3.94 ERA with a 95-to-31 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Boston still needs to add players to the rotation, and Syndergaard would be a viable choice if he’s fully recovered and ready to go back to his previous level of play.
