Following Disu’s evaluation by the team’s medical staff through Wednesday, the initial diagnosis of a knee injury holds true.

Dylan Disu, a senior forward for the Texas Longhorns, is a “game-time decision” for Saturday’s regular-season finale against the Oklahoma Sooners at the Moody Center after sustaining a knee sprain in Monday’s defeat to the Baylor Bears, the school said on Thursday.

Playing just 10 minutes after entering the game with his availability in doubt due to a gastrointestinal illness, Disu went down with 11 minutes remaining in the second half of the Longhorns’ 93-85 loss, giving up a lead that reached as high as 14 points. The diagnosis has stayed the same since then.

Dylan is a previous visitor. Head coach Rodney Terry remarked, “To be honest with you, we didn’t even think he was going to play today.” Thus, give him a lot of credit for persevering and making an effort to play despite his health not being at all good today. He made an effort to play for a little while despite it.

When the medical staff prepared to reevaluate the 6’9, 225-pound player when he returned to Austin, the Texas head coach expressed his belief that Disu would “be fine” at the moment. This belief persisted until Wednesday.

Disu, who shot 51.4 percent from three-point range and finished second on the team in rebounds with 4.8 per game, is the second-leading scorer for the Longhorns with an average of 16.1 points per game. Disu’s season-low three points in a season-low 10 minutes against the Bears set him back.

On Saturday, the action begins at 1:00 PM Central on ESPN.
