After Sam Walters and Kaide Ellis were suspended in the wake of Wigan’s thrilling Challenge Cup semifinal victory over Hull KR, head coach Matt Peet of the WIGAN WARRIORS has urged his team to strengthen their discipline.

Both Walters and Ellis received one-match punishment notices after being charged with Grade B Head Contact and Grade B Dangerous Contact, respectively. As a result, they will miss Wigan’s Super League encounter this weekend against Salford Red Devils.

The Warriors manager maintains that players are ultimately in charge of these bans, despite Peet criticizing other challenges made during that semifinal.

“We get it, and to be honest, I really don’t care to be drawn on it. We comprehend, accept it, and go on,” remarked Peet.

“We need to improve. Isn’t it the only thing under our control? In games, you come across more obstacles inside the same game.

However, we’re going to focus on improving our discipline and timing. We don’t want the Match Review Panel or referees to have any decision-making authority.

“We have to get better because it’s in our control.”

Who will thereafter join Peet’s squad in place of Sam Walters and Kaide Ellis?

“Harvie Hill and Mike Cooper will be back.” They are both dedicated players and have a muscular presence. Both of them are versatile middle forwards.

“One is just getting started, while the other is seasoned and has made hundreds of performances. The two of them have certain things in common.
