Carlos Alcaraz, a midfielder for Southampton, was acquired by Juventus during the winter transfer window on a loan with a buyout option.

Under Russell Martin, the Saints had only begun 13 Championship games before letting Alcaraz go in January.

Martin used the 2002 native in a variety of spots, but he had trouble securing a spot in the starting lineup.

Juventus signed him to a loan agreement with a lucrative £42 million buyout option; however, recent reports indicate the club may not use the clause.

Juventus wishes to maintain Carlos Alcaraz of Southampton has played for the Serie A powerhouses four times since joining.
Due to a hamstring injury, the 21-year-old has missed the last two games but may make a comeback during the international break.

Although they are unwilling to pay the substantial buy option, Juventus is eager to keep the gifted midfield player at the team after his initial loan period.

Calcio Mercato claims that the Italian company merely included the condition at such an exorbitant cost to entice Saints to permit a mid-season departure.

According to the article, it’s “unlikely” that he’ll sign for the £42 million cost; instead, a new agreement might be negotiated between the two sides.

Juventus wants to talk about additional statistics and possibly extend his loan.

Carlos Alcaraz should be allowed to leave Southampton.
Southampton should still let Alcaraz go for a lower price even though they might not be getting the £42 million they had planned for in the summer.

Martin doesn’t think highly of the Argentina youth international, and if he is only going to have a supporting role, there isn’t much need to keep him at the team.

In light of the leagues’ current Financial Fair Play concerns, the Saints need to be astute in the marketplace and permit a Profit and Sustainability violation.

The pressure to sell Alcaraz will only increase if they decide to stay in the Championship next season, and Juventus will have more negotiation power.

It seems ideal for both parties to renegotiate a new cost in the summer given he is obviously much more valuable in Italy anyhow, and he has excelled sufficiently for the club to be eyeing a permanent agreement.

Saints ought to think about approving a deal for between £25 and £30 million with a sizeable sell-on fee, considering his age and potential for growth.

In this way, the team safeguards itself in the unlikely case that Alcaraz reaches his full potential and leaves Juventus for a significant period of time.
