While most attention has been focused on transfers Chaz Lanier (North Florida) and Jaxson Robinson (BYU), Kentucky still has two scholarships available for 2024. The Wildcats are also searching for a 5-star reclass candidate.

In June, Will Riley, a 5-star forward from Malvern (Pa.) Phelps School, plans to visit both the UK and Alabama, he informed Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com.

Riley (6-8, 180) is now ranked No. 16 overall in the 2025 class according to the industry average 247Sports Composite, but he is still thinking about reclassifying to 2024. Riley last month named a top five of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, and the NBL (Australia).
Riley, a native of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, was honored as the Global Camp’s Most Valuable Player in February at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis by Basketball Without Borders.

Riley led UPLAY Canada to a 100–60 victory over Team Durant last weekend, averaging 25.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while shooting 69.1% overall and nailing 9 of 15 three-pointers (60%) for the team. Riley also put up a 42-point performance on 15 of 16 shooting, including a perfect 5 of 5 from three-point range.
Riley is guiding UPLAY to a 6-4 record this travel season with averages of 21.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists across 10 games.

Despite head coach John Calipari leaving for Arkansas, Riley ranked Kentucky in his top 10 in March and the Wildcats in his top five last month. Riley was the focus of attention for new UK coach Mark Pope, as well as assistants Alvin Brooks III, Jason Hart, and Cody Fueger in Indianapolis.
“The head coach and I have been speaking. A tiny bit of the helper, Riley remarked. “My goal is to schedule a meeting with them. Pope and I haven’t spoken much, but he’s been in constant communication with my management.”

Riley gave an explanation of his next stop’s search objectives.

“I don’t want to be placed in roles that I’m not familiar with. Although I could always adapt to that, it would just be preferable to be placed in appropriate situations. Additionally, I want a coach that understands my goals and recognizes my talent. I have certain objectives in mind. Riley stated, “I discuss my goals with them in the hopes that they can assist me in achieving them.
Riley declared, “I can shoot and pass and I’m positionless.” “I feel like I’ve worked on it enough to show that I’m a pretty good passer, but people often overlook my passing. High-rated prospects frequently come up short. However, I think I can improve my team.”

A recent official visit by 3-star, 6-foot-11 Texas center Jamie Vinson, a former Vanderbilt recruit, was held in Kentucky. Vinson visited South Carolina and Rutgers in addition to the UK.

Pope declared lately that “the 13th scholarship is a floating piece.” “A young player might find a home there. A senior player who plans to take a redshirt year may be able to use it. It might serve as a project location. It might be a place for a high-risk guy
