Throughout the playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks have been heavily reliant on their stars. Kyrie Irving has played an average of 39.9 minutes per game in the Mavericks’ three games against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round as they attempt to secure a spot in the Western Conference Finals.

Irving, on the other hand, isn’t grumbling.

Josh Hart of the Knicks, in a “tremendous” quote

Another guy who has been logging some extremely heavy minutes in the playoffs is Josh Hart of the New York Knicks. In fact, Hart has been on the bench for a total of just five minutes in the Knicks’ first three games of their second-round series against the Indiana Pacers.

Hart was recently asked about being fatigued, which prompted an epic response from the 6-foot-4 forward:

“Our job’s to play basketball. You got people getting up at 6AM doing 12-hour shifts. Those guys are tired,” he said. “… We’re fortunate enough to play a game…that we love…We have to keep that in perspective [& be] full of energy every time we step on the court”

News from the Dallas Mavericks: Kyrie Irving Responds to Josh Hart’s Remarks
Kyrie has certainly seen that Hart’s remarks have gained traction. When speaking about his own workload during the postseason, the Mavs star actually referenced Hart’s statement:

“I think Josh Hart had a great quote where he said that we get to play a game that we love and people work 12 hour shifts,” Irving remarked. “.. For many of us, it hits the nail on the head.

As one of the highest-paid players in the NBA right now, Irving has made it obvious that life is far harder for ordinary Americans than it is for basketball players, even though he has conceded that the postseason has been difficult.
