Larry Lloyd, a former European Cup winner and player for Coventry City, passes away

PRIOR Larry Lloyd, a Coventry City player and winner of the European Cup, died at the age of 75.
In 1974, Lloyd became the club’s record transfer to Coventry City.

This came after an incredible tenure at Liverpool, where he was named an England cap winner and won both the First Division title and the UEFA Cup.

The center half, however, struggled at Highfield Road due to injuries, and as a result, he only played 54 games and scored six goals for the Sky Blues.

After relocating to Nottingham Forest in December 1976, he worked closely with legendary manager Brian Clough to contribute to one of the most incredible football tales ever.

He was victorious in the Second Division, the First Division championship in 1977–1978 and the European Cup in 1979 and 1980.

In 1974, Larry became a Coventry City player after manager Gordon Milne broke the club record for transfers to sign the center half, whom he considered to be the cornerstone around whom to build his team. He was rejuvenated at Forest, where he won the Second Division, the First Division championship in 1977–1978 and the European Cup in 1979 and 1980 in his 218

Coventry City said that it was sorry to hear of Lloyd’s passing and sent its condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.
