After an outstanding start in S6, Sheffield Wednesday striker Ike Ugbo is already high on the list of all-time club records.

Ugbo is the newest goal hero of Sheffield Wednesday.

The Troyes loanee has already netted five goals in his first seven Championship games for the Owls, including a brace in their most recent 2-1 victory against Bristol City.

After the victory, Danny Rohl’s team has a three-point lead over Rotherham United, the bottom team, going into this weekend’s crucial away game.

Even if the struggle for survival is far from finished, Ugbo’s form offers the Owls newfound optimism that they may overcome the drop.

On the all-time goals-per-game charts at Sheffield Wednesday, Ike Ugbo is ranked tenth.
The Canadian international Ugbo has scored five goals in his eight games overall thus far.

And because of this record, he has risen to the top of Sheffield Wednesday’s all-time goals-per-game rankings.

With a goals-per-game ratio of 0.63, Ugbo is now ranked 10th by Transfermarkt. The record is held by five former Owls players—Will Trueman, Brian Davies, Tommy Ward, and Jack Allen—while Kenwyne Jones leads the list in terms of goals scored.

Cult hero Jones scored seven in seven for the Owls, during a loan spell in the 2004/05 League One campaign; a goals-per-game ratio of 1.

And if Ugbo scores one against Rotherham this weekend, he’ll take his record to six in nine for the Owls, bumping his goals-per-game ratio to 0.66 and keeping his spot in the top 10.

Ugbo’s career is booming following a difficult period.
For the 25-year-old, things haven’t been easy.

Like many Chelsea youths, he began his career with Chelsea and was loaned out multiple times after failing to establish himself and making an impression during stints in the Football League’s lower divisions.

However, he found success in Europe, where he played a lot for Roda JC and Cercle Brugge.

With Genk and Troyes, there was another somewhat dry spell, and he may have scored four goals in 20 Championship games for Cardiff City.

However, Ugbo has discovered his scoring touch at Hillsborough.

Because Ugbo is getting lots of help from the wide areas and taking his chances when they present themselves, Rohl might be a major contributing element to the turnaround.

Keeping him healthy and productive has become crucial for the Owls, who play Rotherham United on Saturday at 3 p.m.
