Danny Rohl will be looking forward to his team’s upcoming five Championship games. Following a valiant 1-1 draw with Paul Heckingbottom’s Preston North End at Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield Wednesday is now in a more prestigious 9th spot, five points out of the playoffs.
There were many drawbacks to the home draw after the Championship’s two straight away wins, notably Liam Palmer’s lacklustre effort and Marvin Johnson’s frustrated displays. Even so, it was a point for Danny Rohl’s team, and when considering the 2024–25 Championship season overall, there are many encouraging aspects to consider.
After the season’s dismal start, many people probably wouldn’t have predicted Sheffield Wednesday to finish in the top half. The next five games of 2024 will be crucial in determining Sheffield Wednesday’s future if they are to remain positive and aim for the play-off spots, which are not far away.
