Duke’s recent offer to AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall prospect for the class of 2025, could significantly shift the recruiting landscape. Following this past weekend’s EYBL session, Dybantsa opened up about his recruitment, including the impact of the Duke offer and what it means for the Blue Devils.
Since taking over the Duke Basketball program, head coach Jon Scheyer has consistently attracted top talent to Durham. For three consecutive seasons, he has secured one of the top two recruiting classes in the country. Last season, Scheyer made headlines by landing Cooper Flagg, the top overall player in the class of 2024.
Flagg’s signing was a milestone for Scheyer, as the freshman became the first No. 1 overall player to choose Duke under his leadership. Previously, Scheyer’s highest-rated recruit was Dereck Lively II, the No. 2 overall player in the class of 2022.
