Concerns over Carlos Alcaraz’s participation in the French Open are growing as he updates injuries.
Due to the issue, the Spaniard was unable to participate in the European clay-court season.
Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Italian Open in Rome, scheduled for next week, citing increased forearm discomfort.

The injury kept the Spaniard out of the first two major European clay-court tournaments in Monte-Carlo and Barcelona, but he returned to compete for a third straight victory at the Madrid Open.

With less than a month till the French Open begins, Alcaraz has confessed that his right arm is still a problem after losing to Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals.
Alcaraz posted on social media, saying, “After playing in Madrid, I experienced some soreness and discomfort in my arm. I conducted several tests today and discovered that, as a result of my recent accident, I have muscular edema in my pronator teres.

Regretfully, I will be unable to perform in Rome. I must take a nap in order to recuperate and play without any pain. I apologize and I hope to see you again next year.

Concerns also persist on the health of world number four Daniil Medvedev and Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner, who both withdrew mid-tournament in Madrid due to injuries.
