LATEST: Jack Clarke is expected to make a summer transfer from Sunderland to Championship rivals.

It is now predicted that Jack Clarke would sign with Sunderland’s Championship opponents.

For nearly a year now, Jack Clarke has been the focus of intense curiosity following an impressive 18 months in the second division.

The winger has subsequently scored 24 goals and given 16 assists in 80 games, although his loan time with the Black Cats during their promotion-winning campaign was rather lackluster.

Following his rejection of Burnley’s summer bid, the number of teams desperate to sign Clarke shot up.

In the January transfer window, Sunderland turned down two bids from Lazio, although Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Brighton were among the interested parties.

Despite their best efforts to hang onto him thus far, the club is content to let him go at the conclusion of the season for a respectable sum.

Although it is anticipated that he will go up to the Premier League, there have also been recent reports suggesting Southampton is interested in making a deal.

In an attempt to join Sunderland in the top division by the summer, the Saints, who have already signed Ross Stewart, will now try to entice another of their highly sought-after players.

Despite losing three of their previous four games, Russell Martin’s team is now in the play-off places and will likely play in the second tier next season. Clarke is still expected to play for them.

Journalist Dean Jones stated to GIVEMESPORT, “Yeah, it feels like a good fit.” He would undoubtedly be drawn to a club of such magnitude and with the kind of visibility they currently seem to have.

He will, of course, be aware of how excellent they have already been this season. As Russell Martin’s profile in the game continues to rise, other players will tell you about how he is helping both the squad and the individuals that make up it. Thus, I believe Jack Clarke would be interested in such circumstance.

Would Southampton sign Jack Clarke?
I would be shocked if Jack Clarke made the same decision, even though Ross Stewart was ready to head south.

With so many alternatives available to him in the summer, it appears more likely that the winger will decide to stay in the north or go back to London.

I would argue that if Clarke had the option of playing for a team that was vying for promotion again the following season, he would rather stay at Sunderland and would only even consider Southampton if they had already won the league.

A team like West Ham or Crystal Palace looks like a better fit for Clarke because he is unquestionably a Premier League player and will want to demonstrate his abilities with the greatest players.
