Carlos Alcaraz, connected to Nottingham Forest, is expected to join Juventus.
It seems that Forest was ready to sign Alcaraz, and the player was excited to play at the City Ground.

According to Mirko Di Natale, Eduardo Burgos, his colleague, thinks Alcaraz was planning to move to Forest.

But Juve persisted in pressing for his signature, and within a few hours, the procedures were completed.

The player now appears poised to sign with the Old Lady in the next few hours, with the agreement expected to be completed prior to the deadline.

Alcaraz has netted four goals for Southampton in the 2023–2024 season since their return to the EFL the previous year.

The young player may have been considered Forest’s successor for Orel Mangala, as the Belgian is expected to join Lyon.

Maybe Forest was wise not to sign Alcaraz.
It’s safe to assume that Alcaraz hasn’t exactly had success at Southampton, so maybe Forest will come out on top in this one.

Even though the athlete is just 21 years old and did score against Forest in the previous season, he hasn’t exactly dominated the Championship in 2023–2024.

Alcaraz might have been considered a project for the future. But from a commercial standpoint, that wouldn’t have been feasible for such a large fee.

The player will be on loan from Juventus until the end of the current campaign, with a £35 million purchase option available in the summer.

Missing out on a player who looks like he’s almost ready to sign is never easy.

But we don’t think Forest will be too concerned about losing Alcaraz to Juventus, in our opinion.
