A meeting between AC Milan, Inter Milan, the Council of Milan, and WeBuild regarding the San Siro renovation project at the Palazzo Marino has recently concluded. This meeting, requested urgently by Mayor Beppe Sala, aimed to discuss the proposed €300m+ overhaul of San Siro, which Milan is considering alongside the possibility of constructing a new stadium in San Donato Milanese, a priority confirmed by the club’s leadership.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, not much information emerged from the meeting, but requests from Milan and Inter were directly presented to the council. Two key points were discussed:

1. WeBuild, the company proposing the renovation plan for San Siro, presented their proposal to the council and the clubs.
2. The clubs reiterated their key points, including the desire to modernize the facility, the ability to continue playing during construction to avoid revenue loss, and an increase in VIP and hospitality seats.

Calcio e Finanza outlines three hypotheses currently under consideration:

1. A “bridge solution”: interim works before Milan and Inter move definitively to a new purpose-built stadium.
2. A “more in-depth renovation” of San Siro.
3. A “middle ground” solution between a definitive modernization of San Siro and lighter work while awaiting relocation to a new home.

The next meeting is scheduled in three months, during which WeBuild will present the feasibility study of the San Siro project.
