The Dallas Cowboys had another disappointing season as they were unable to end their Super Bowl drought.

The Cowboys had a crucial offseason after the Green Bay Packers eliminated them from the Wild Card round.

Given the talent on both sides of the ball, the 2023 NFL season was perhaps their best chance to return to the title game; nevertheless, their postseason problems returned to haunt them.

In spite of their premature departure, the organization remains well-positioned to recover in 2024.

Regarding their summer, one of the biggest concerns is what they will do with Dak Prescott, who had a strong second half of the season.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys will try to sign Prescott to a big new contract.

Via Kevin Gray Jr. on Twitter, Rapoport stated that “Cowboys and Dak Prescott are expected to have deal done before free agency that will make him one of the highest paid QBs in the NFL.”

Although there are those who doubt Prescott’s ability to lead Dallas past its current setback, Rapoport’s story seems to suggest that the team has faith in him moving ahead.

Prescott was among the league’s top quarterbacks and a strong contender for MVP.

Even though he isn’t as well-liked as some of his colleagues, the veteran has demonstrated that, when he gets the offense going, it can reach new heights.

Teams know they must pay a premium for a quality quarterback, so they won’t be surprised by the final figures on his contract.
