Washington has bolstered its special teams unit with the addition of cornerback James Pierre, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. Pierre, who initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Steelers in 2020, brings a wealth of experience, having appeared in at least 16 games over the past four seasons.

During the 2023 season, Pierre contributed eight total tackles across 16 appearances while seeing action on 60 percent of Pittsburgh’s special teams snaps and two percent of defensive snaps. Throughout his career thus far, Pierre has amassed 94 total tackles, eight passes defensed, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 66 games, including six starts.
