Veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy praised defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald of the Baltimore Ravens on X after the Seattle Seahawks chose him as their new head coach.

“Congrats to Mike Mac dope he got a head coaching gig with a solid organization!” Kyle Van Noy said, via X. “My opinion in my short time in the building he embodied everything it was to be a raven! The mindset, the competitiveness, leadership, and the winning mindset he brought every day. He also did it in his own way. Was very impressed by him as a coach Seattle got a good one!”

Van Noy, who signed with the Ravens this season, was a crucial member of Mike Macdonald’s 32-man defense, which was among the finest in the league. After playing with the Ravens under John Harbaugh for the most of his career, he now accepts a position with the Seahawks.

After joining Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan football team for a season in 2021, Macdonald played nine of the previous 10 seasons with the Ravens. In 2022, he returned to Baltimore to take on the role of defensive coordinator. Macdonald worked as a defensive assistant for the Ravens before taking over as defensive coordinator for the Michigan football program.

It will be intriguing to watch how Macdonald performs for the Seahawks. He is regarded as one of football’s greatest defensive thinkers, and he will be bringing that expertise to Seattle. Hiring a strong offensive coordinator will be crucial, as it is with any defensive head coach.
