Despite the understandable desire for quality backups, especially given Watson’s limited game time due to injuries, the Browns’ decision to sign both Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley has sparked curiosity.

Tony Grossi of The Land on Demand and ESPN 850 suggested that the Browns’ past decision to rely on rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the top backup behind Watson in the 2023 season might have been a mistake.
