Sarah Nurse netted two goals, including the decisive overtime marker, leading Toronto to a 4-3 triumph over Minnesota on Tuesday evening, extending their winning streak to six games.

With the victory, Toronto narrowed the gap to three points behind first-place Montreal in the PWHL standings, while Minnesota, despite suffering three consecutive losses, maintained their second-place position.

Toronto maintained control throughout the game, opening the scoring as Blayre Turnbull found the net just shy of six minutes into the match, putting them up 1-0. Kali Flanagan doubled the lead with her second goal of the season on a power play in the second period, marking Toronto’s first non-Natalie Spooner power-play goal.

Sarah Nurse capitalized on a rebound to give Toronto a 3-2 lead in the third period, before sealing the win with her fourth goal of the season in overtime, redirecting a shot past Nicole Hensley.

Kristen Campbell, Toronto’s goaltender, recorded 27 saves, securing her league-leading eighth win in 12 starts.

Minnesota managed to equalize on multiple occasions, with Sophie Jaques and Natalie Buchbinder scoring their first goals of the season to tie the game at 1-1 and 2-2, respectively. Jaques, playing in her fifth game since joining Minnesota via trade, leveled the score at 3-3 with just 21.1 seconds remaining in the third period, marking Minnesota’s first three-goal game since Jan. 27.
