Denver, Colorado Springs USA Basketball announced on Monday morning that Mikaylah Williams of LSU has been invited to take part in the 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team training camp.
Williams is the current MVP of the FIBA 3×3 U18 Women’s World Cup and a three-time champion. She has also won two USA Basketball 3×3 Athletes of the Year titles (2023, 2022). Her 5-on-5 accomplishments also include an appearance at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit and a gold medal in the FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup in 2022. Williams will have her first shot at making the first team of the national team this year at the camp. She is one of 17 competitors fighting for a position that will provide several options, such as the opportunity to compete in the Olympics in Paris.
Williams, the SEC Freshman of the Year, has wrapped up one of the best freshman campaigns in LSU history. She was sixth among freshman in program history with her 14.5 points per game average and 98 assists overall. She scored twenty points or more in seven games, including the highest point total by an LSU freshman in the NCAA era—42 points—in her fourth collegiate game against Kent State.
Training camp for USA Basketball will take place in Springfield, Massachusetts from April 17–20. The 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team, which will compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, the 2024 USA 3×3 U23 Women’s National Team, and teams that will compete on the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series are among the national teams that the committee will assess for potential selection.

Athletes will be chosen to compete after training camp, and the USA will enter two teams in the competition. This event will be the first 3×3 Women’s Series event to be held in the US since the Series launched in 2019.
