LATEST NEWS:Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama rejects 1 notion about team’s struggles

The San Antonio Spurs have been significantly out of the game in the third quarter for a significant stretch of the season. Their inclination to rally is another feature shared by those games. In the Spurs’ 108-98 loss to the Orlando Magic, it happened once more. However, super rookie Victor Wembanyama doesn’t think the margin of victory matters much in the end.

Similar to their performances against the Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Cleveland Cavaliers earlier in January, the Spurs again overcame a double-digit second-half deficit on Wednesday to produce an exhilarating comeback. Just like in all those games, the rally was not enough.

It’s a basketball game. Head coach of the Spurs Gregg Popovich stated, “You mean you get back in games, you make some stops, you make some shots, maybe the other team doesn’t make some shots.” The game lasts for 48 minutes and has ups and downs. We enjoyed our stretch. They performed admirably.

With 1:59 remaining in the third quarter, Magic big man Moritz Wagner hit a layup, putting the Silver and Black behind 25 points. There were still nineteen minutes left in the game, and Orlando was ahead 22.

ClutchPoints forwarded the identical query to Victor Wembanyama to Jeremy Sochan.

Not really; I believe the main issue is figuring out how to avoid falling into that hole. The former Baylor Bear went on, “We did a bunch of s**t that we’ve got to do better at and we shouldn’t have been in that hole in the first place.” “We’re still going to keep going even though it’s disappointing.” We must improve, but we will give it our all.

Regarding the team’s performance from three-point range to start, Vassell remarked, “I didn’t know that we were 3-for-21.” Yes, just persevere through it. We followed [Coach Popovich’s] 48-minute rule, which we adhered to. A big thank you to Blake Wesley for igniting the crowd, stealing the ball back-to-back, and generally igniting the fourth quarter for us.

In the third quarter, we needed to play better,” the 2020 NBA draft’s eleventh overall selection said. “Weak possessions, far too many turnovers, and they were essentially running layup lines.” It’s difficult to recover from a 20-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Needless to say, we performed admirably in closing the gap and turning the game into a contest, but with that one, we kind of shot ourselves in the foot.

The third quarter saw Orlando outscore the Spurs 34–21 in a game that had several swings. With three minutes remaining in the game, San Antonio pulled within three points thanks to a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter after taking an 11-point lead in the first. The Magic then improved to 25-23 on the season by scoring nine of the last 11 points of the game.
