On Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes, forward Frank Nazar will make his NHL debut, giving the Chicago Blackhawks a look at what’s to come. Nazar, who inked a rookie deal with Chicago on Saturday, will center Jason Dickinson and Joey Anderson on what is expected to be the third line for the Blackhawks.
The five-foot-ten forward left Michigan after a brief but fruitful career and signed with the Blackhawks. Nazar had a rookie season cut short by injury during which he earned 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists) in 41 games this season for the Wolverines.
In the 2022 NHL Draft, Nazar was chosen by the Blackhawks with the 13th overall pick. Chicago needs to be confident in its center depth for years to come, especially with Connor Bedard joining the team and other intriguing prospects on the horizon.
Nazar’s final three games with the Blackhawks this season will provide him an opportunity to get used to life in the NHL. It starts on Sunday at 5 PM with a puck drop against the Hurricanes. The game will be shown on Chicago’s NBC Sports.
