Here is all the most recent information about Sunderland.

On the field, Sunderland has recently been through a terrible period.

Michael Beale was fired last month, and Mike Dodds took over as interim manager until the end of the season.

They are currently on a six-game losing streak, though, having failed to gain a single point in his four games in charge thus far.

With nine games remaining and 11 points down, the Black Cats appear to have abandoned all hope of making the playoffs for the second straight season.

Here, we look at the most recent information about Sunderland, including players who are getting close to returning from injuries and rumors about incomings and outgoings.

Explaining social media deactivation, Diallo
Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo was the star for Sunderland last season, with the Manchester United loanee scoring 13 goals as they reached the play-offs.

Successful crosses per 90 0.17

Following his recovery from a preseason injury, he hardly played for United again. There were rumors that he would return to the Stadium of Light, but that never happened.

Recently, Diallo removed all of his posts about Manchester United from social media, which fueled speculation that he will leave Old Trafford once more.

But he then disclosed that this was because he was getting ready for Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting.

“I turned off all social media for a month in order to dedicate myself to Ramadan.” Amad said on social media, “Stop the hate, there’s nothing wrong with what I did,” before the posts were taken down. “It’s my holy month, and on social media, I can see awful things when I’m fasting.”

Dack is not in the U21 match.

Due to a hamstring injury, Bradley Dack hasn’t played for the Black Cats since Boxing Day.

He is a footballer who missed extended amounts of time due to multiple injuries sustained while playing for his previous team, Blackburn Rovers.

Dack, who is now close to full recovery, was supposed to play for the U21s against Manchester City, but he was left out of the squad as Graeme Murty’s team drew 2-2.

So, sadly for Dack, there might be another setback.

After missing nearly a year due to an ACL injury, Corry Evans is also expected to make a quick comeback.

Despite twisting his ankle during training last week, the 33-year-old midfielder is expected to play for the U21s on Monday against fierce rivals Newcastle United.

Lazio returns for the Sunderland pair

At the ages of 23 and 18, Jack Clarke and Jobe Bellingham, two of Sunderland’s greatest players, have enormous potential.

Both garnered interest in the January window, but throughout the month, there were many rumors that Clarke was about to leave, with numerous Premier League clubs being linked to him.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reports that Lazio, a team in Europe, expressed interest in Clarke back in January and that they will be back in the summer to target both Bellingham and Clarke.

Keeping hold of both of them during the summer transfer window will be a major challenge for Sunderland.
