Brandon Marsh has a right hamstring strain and is currently on the 10-day injured list since June 3. Despite not giving a specific timeline, Marsh expressed optimism about returning soon. Manager Rob Thomson joked that the strain was mild, giving it a “half” grade. Marsh played as a designated hitter for Double-A Reading on Thursday and is set to play seven to nine innings in center field on Friday. Thomson mentioned there’s no special reason for Marsh playing center instead of left, but it will allow him to further test his hamstring. Depending on how Marsh performs on Friday, Thomson hinted at the possibility of activating him as early as Saturday, without expecting him to need another rest day unless a third rehab game is necessary.

Trea Turner is also on the 10-day injured list due to a left hamstring strain since May 4. Turner expects to miss approximately six weeks. He participated in game-like activities during his rehab on Friday in Baltimore, including start-and-stops and late holds at third base, supervised by Thomson. Thomson indicated that Turner is unlikely to be activated immediately, with a plan for a similar workout on Saturday. A return on Sunday is a possibility.

J.T. Realmuto underwent right knee surgery and was retroactively placed on the 10-day injured list from June 10. He had a successful meniscectomy surgery on June 12 and is expected to be out for about a month. Despite not traveling with the team to Baltimore, Realmuto has been seen walking normally and using a stationary bike.
