As star forward Jai Arrow laces up for NRL game number 150 against his former club this weekend, South Sydney will be rejuvenated and ready to go after a decisive win against the Eels in the Indigenous Round and a bye last week.

Arrow joined the Brisbane Broncos in 2016 and made his NRL debut. After that, he traveled down the highway in 2018 to play 56 games with the Titans before joining the red and green in 2021.

Jai has been one of the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ most reliable players for the past three and a half years, playing every week. Arrow has a history of giving his all in every game, whether he is starting, coming off the bench, playing lock, front row, or second row. This Saturday against his former team, the Titans, won’t be any different.

Ahead of this weekend’s match, the Rabbitohs will be full of confidence thanks to their incredibly great record against the Titans. The Rabbitohs have an outstanding all-time record of 16 victories and 6 losses dating back to 2007, and they are presently riding an eight-match winning streak versus the Gold Coast.

When the two teams faced up in round 14 of 2023, exactly one year ago, South Sydney prevailed 46-28. This time, defense wasn’t exactly the plan, as a whopping 13 tries were scored at a rate of about one point every minute.

The Rabbitohs scored eight of those tries, with Alex Johnston getting a hat-trick among them. Other try scorers included Cody Walker, Richie Kennar, Keaon Koloamatangi, Campbell Graham, and Hame Sele.

In related news, Cody Walker is back from a calf injury that prevented him from playing in Indigenous Round versus the Eels. In the halves, he will have the chance to work with five-eighth Jack Wighton for the first time while donning the number seven shirt. Seeing how these two superstars work in tandem to lead the squad and score points in the first half of the match will undoubtedly be entertaining.

Additionally, Richie Kennar has been selected to start this week for just his third NRL game of 2024. Kennar, who hasn’t played in the first grade since round two, will be trying to take advantage of his chance to shine after recording a double against Manly-Warringah in Vegas.

Michael Chee Kam will move into the back row with milestone man Arrow as a result of Kennar’s participation in the squad.
