With Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the Boston Celtics seeking redemption in the postseason against Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks, the Finals promise to be a genuine clash of titans. Dallas will be making its final appearance in the finals since winning the championship in 2011, while Boston will be making its second attempt at the title in the last three years after losing to GSW in 2022.

Doncic, the Mavericks’ 25-year-old scoring star, will be making his NBA Finals debut on Thursday. If he can lead his team to a win in the best-of-seven series, he could become the first player to win a national title and a scoring title in the same season since Shaquille O’Neal in 2000. He is already chasing Shaq’s records during this postseason, after Doncic and Irving became the first pair of teammates to have more than 35+ points each in a playoffs performance since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in 2001.

The other most-talked-about tandem in the tournament, Tatum and Brown, both now have a chance to win the ring that has so-far eluded them. Pundits love to compare them, and even pit them against one another, but the pair have already proven they can come together to bring Boston wins this postseason, and will try to do it again in the Finals.
