latest Team news for Sunderland vs. Plymouth: Roberts and Rusyn start

For today’s matchup with Plymouth, Sunderland manager Michael Beale has made two changes to his squad.

Mason Burstow and Jobe Bellingham are replaced in the starting lineup by Patrick Roberts and Nazariy Rusyn.

In his pregame press conference, Beale hinted at the intriguing notion of beginning with Clarke, Ba, and Roberts. The head coach has chosen to unleash the trio together today. Roberts will probably play on the right side while Ba moves inside.

Burstow and Rusyn are an upfront like-for-like trade.

Leo Hjelde maintains his starting position at left back following a brilliant Middlesbrough debut.

January signature Romaine Mundle is back among the replacements, but Callum Styles isn’t quite ready to play after having his appendix removed last month, and the match comes too soon for him.

Bishop, Pembele, Bellingham, Hemir, Burstow, Mundle, Aouchiche, Seelt, Rigg are the replacements.

PLYMOUTH (3-4-3): Whittaker, Devine, Hardie, Forshaw, Phillips, Gibson, Galloway, Mumba, Gyabi, and Hazard

Sousa, Pleguezuelo, Scarr, Edwards, Randell, Waine, Sorinola, and Issaka are the replacements.
