In the end, the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers squared off in the NFL playoffs of 2023. Few people (or anyone, for that matter) had predicted that matchup would occur in the first round of the playoffs halfway through the season. The Cowboys’ season was once again ended early than expected by the Packers, who dominated the game.

One starter, though, might end up going Blue and White instead of Green and Gold.

The Dallas Cowboys could sign a former starter from the Green Bay Packers.

Ezekiel Elliott signed with the New England Patriots, therefore the Cowboys have been without a power back since. Although Tony Pollard is a quick runner, he didn’t have the qualities of a consistent running back.

In addition, Pollard is a free agent in his own right. Dillon is a potent runner who isn’t particularly explosive, and he won’t likely bring in a large salary in free agency, which makes him the ideal addition to the Cowboys.

One of the Green Bay Packers’ pending free agents in the spring is running back AJ Dillon. Dillon, 25, was injured and missed both postseason games. Although many believe he may be a good number-two, it doesn’t seem like he will be this league’s starting running back.

During the regular season, Dillon carried the ball 178 times for 613 yards and two touchdowns. He gained 3.4 yards per carry on average.Furthermore, Dillon hauled in 22 receptions for 223 yards and no scores.

The Packers may be changing the makeup of their running back lineup, starting with Aaron Jones’ retention. But given the draft and free agency, as well as the Packers’ genuine interest in trading for Jonathan Taylor during the previous season, it’s likely the team will explore alternative avenues going forward.
