LATEST UPDATE: As the summer transfer window draws near, Leeds United is rumored to have made a move for a former Sunderland transfer target.

According to reports, Leeds United has put forward a £7 million offer for Bright Osayi-Samuel.

During the summer transfer window of last year, Sunderland was connected to Osayi-Samuel from Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce; however, the deal never went through beyond initial rumors.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international was allegedly the target of attention from other teams as well, with reports citing offers from Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. As for Leeds United, Fanatik reports that during the summer transfer window last year, they made a bid of about £8 million.

But according to a number of recent media sources, Leeds United has submitted a fresh £7 million proposal for the midfielder after their previous attempt to sign him last year was turned down.

On Saturday at the Stadium of Light in the Championship, Sunderland will play Queens Park Rangers. Coach Mike Dodds’ team is hoping to keep Sunderland from losing seven games in a row. On Sunday, Leeds United, who are league rivals, will host Millwall at Elland Road.
