LATEST UPDATE : Mikel Arteta keen on signing £30m Milan player for Arsenal.

Charles De Ketelaere, a Milan loanee, is reportedly Mikel Arteta’s top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer season.

In his first season with the Rossoneri, the 23-year-old Belgian star found it difficult to adjust to Serie A. However, under Gian Piero Gasperini, he has found a new lease on life in Bergamo, where he has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 33 games in all competitions.

Last summer, De Ketelaere signed a season-long loan agreement with Atalanta from Milan that contained a €26 million buyout option and a potential resale clause. It seems probable that this will be triggered prior to the summer transfer window.

According to Fichajes via Caught Offside, Arteta is closely monitoring the gifted Belgian striker in advance of the summer transfer window because he sees De Ketelaere as a “valuable” player who has the potential to “make the difference” at Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has also been linked to Manchester United; he would seem to suit well in Arteta’s North London setup.

After 28 games, Arsenal is presently atop the Premier League standings, one point ahead of Manchester City and matched with Liverpool.
