ac milan could spring a surprise move in the upcoming summer transfer window for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, as reported by Ben Jacobs via Give Me Sport. Ramsdale, who is also being pursued by AC Milan, is expected to be on the move after falling down the pecking order at Arsenal. Despite being regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, Ramsdale has seen his opportunities limited at Arsenal following the arrival of David Raya on a season-long loan deal from Brentford last summer, with an option to buy that is likely to be activated by the Gunners.

Arteta has hinted at rotating his goalkeepers, expressing a desire for competition in that position, which led to the acquisition of David Raya. However, Raya’s consistent performances since joining Arsenal suggest that Arteta was also seeking a ball-playing goalkeeper rather than just competition.

With Aaron Ramsdale falling down the pecking order and serving as the deputy goalkeeper throughout the season, it’s likely that the England international, who was signed for £30 million, will seek a move away from the club in the summer. While there’s interest from various clubs across Europe, Ben Jacobs believes West Ham United could pursue Ramsdale.

Despite West Ham’s current satisfactory goalkeeper situation with Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola competing for the number one spot, Fabianski’s age, at 38, suggests that they may need to find a replacement soon. Therefore, West Ham could view Ramsdale, one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League at just 25 years old, as a viable long-term option to avoid future regrets.

Additionally, AC Milan is reportedly interested in Ramsdale, with reports from Fichajes indicating that they are closely monitoring his situation. Although Milan currently has Mike Maignan in their squad, the 28-year-old has been linked with a move away. Should Milan fail to retain Maignan, Ramsdale could become their top priority for the summer transfer window.
