LeBron James Furious with NBA Legends Over Hatred for His Son: “I Will Say It a Million Times, Bronny Has Earned His Draft Spot”. READ MORE 👇👇
In response to the drama, Portnoy posted an “emergency press conference” video on X, captioned: “I Actually Feel Bad For Laker Fans Being Held Hostage By Bron Bron.”
Portnoy clarified that his sentiments were not directed against Bronny, who recently played for USC, but rather the overall predicament of the Lakers’ fans. He argued that Lakers supporters should be frustrated with the current state of their team.
“But if you were a Lakers fan – I miss the rivalries. I’m being serious. How infuriated are you?” Portnoy questioned in his video. “Your team has been a joke. You can’t compete. You haven’t been good. And LeBron, I love the guy, but he’s turned this into an absolute sideshow.”
Portnoy further discussed the recent developments involving the Lakers, including the controversial draft pick of Bronny and the hiring of 15-year NBA veteran JJ Redick as the new head coach. Redick, who recently served as an ESPN analyst, also co-hosted the “Mind The Game” podcast with LeBron James during the past season. Redick has since announced that the podcast will end due to his new coaching responsibilities, which now include overseeing his former co-host’s son.
Portnoy claimed LeBron James is running the franchise
“But imagine being a Lakers fan and LeBron’s running a franchise,” Portnoy continued. “He’s got his podcast host as a coach, he’s got his son playing the point, man!”
Portnoy expressed skepticism about the Lakers’ prospects of reaching the NBA Finals in the near future, concluding his remarks with a note of reluctant empathy.
