An induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is scheduled for Seimone Augustus.

The Capitol High graduate, LSU star, and WNBA champion Augustus was voted into the Hall of Fame’s class of 2024 as a first-ballot inductee, the hall said on Saturday.

In addition to being a four-time WNBA champion, Augustus is an eight-time WNBA all-star and two-time Naismith College Player of the Year. From 2004 to 2006, she guided the LSU women’s basketball team to three straight Final Fours. Following that, she started a stellar 15-year professional career.

Augustus said, “It means so much,” to ESPN. “It was obviously my intention to lead the way in the game, observe its current state, its visibility, and its elevation, as well as my desire to honor the individuals I traveled this road with. Now that it has been officially nominated for the Hall of Fame, the path has been lengthy, difficult, but extremely rewarding.”

On August 16, the Hall of Fame will induct its class of 2024 members.
