The Louisville men’s basketball alumni team will return to The Basketball Tournament (TBT) for its second year, now featuring NBA power forward Montrezl Harrell, and will face a tough in-state rival in the tournament opener.
On Wednesday, TBT announced that “The Ville” alumni team will compete against “UKnighted,” primarily composed of Bellarmine’s men’s basketball alumni, in their first match. The game is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at Freedom Hall and will be broadcast on FOX.
If The Ville triumphs over UKnighted, they will next play against either Sideline Cancer or VBL on Monday, July 22, at 7 p.m. on FS1.
Louisville is one of eight TBT locations, with The Ville competing in the Louisville Regional against seven other teams. The regional winner will progress to the TBT quarterfinals to face the winner of the Lexington Regional.
The Louisville Regional game is set for Wednesday, July 24, at 7 p.m. on FS1. The ultimate winner of the 64-team tournament will receive a $1 million prize.
