LSU player Angel Reese says, “I didn’t want to be basic,” while declaring for the WNBA draft in a picture shoot with Vogue.

Angel Reese, a standout player from LSU who is well-known for her fingernail art, eyelash extensions, and fierce play in the paint, officially declared for the WNBA draft on Wednesday. Her statement was made two days after the Tigers’ season came to an end in the women’s NCAA Tournament Elite Eight round, losing to Iowa and Caitlin Clark.

Reese, whose professional interests also include modeling and fashion, revealed her intentions through a picture session in Vogue, citing Serena Williams’s similar 2022 retirement announcement as her inspiration.

Reese openly expressed his desire to rejoin the Tigers right up until the conclusion of the LSU season. She did, however, admit that she had decided to become a professional before March Madness started.
