Angel Reese, a former standout player for LSU women’s basketball, has already chosen the moniker she will use when she plays WNBA basketball for the Chicago Sky.

Reese was selected by the Sky with the seventh overall pick in this week’s WNBA draft, and the native of Maryland has immediately initiated contact with the team’s supporters.

In preparation for her impending move to Chicago, Reese requested her followers on social media on Wednesday to help her think of a new moniker.
Reese wrote on X, “I need a new name now that I’m in Chicago lol something cute that is catchy like Bayou Barbie.”

During her first season at LSU, Reese gave herself the nickname “Bayou Barbie,” which stuck with her the entire time she lived in Baton Rouge.

Reese made up her mind on her new moniker in Chicago by Thursday.

Reese spoke the greeting, “Hello, it’s the Chi Barbie here,” in a TikTok video. “I want everyone to know that even though I’m moving to Chicago, I’ll still be the Bayou Barbie. Thus, in a sense, they have already inherited me in Chicago.

“My name is Barbie Chi. I am the Bayou Barbie and I will always be the Baltimore Barbie.”

Reese is obviously living up to the “Barbie” moniker.
