Luka Doncic’s remarkable streak of seven consecutive triple-doubles came to an end during the Dallas Mavericks’ victory over the Golden State Warriors, who were without Stephen Curry. However, it wasn’t Doncic’s statistical achievements that dominated the post-game discussions.

In a pivotal moment during the fourth quarter, Doncic attempted an alley-oop pass to Daniel Gafford. However, when he landed and planted his leg, Doncic appeared to tweak his hamstring. According to Marc Stein, Doncic grimaced in pain and immediately requested to be substituted out of the game, heading straight to the locker room for further assessment.

Luka Doncic did not make a comeback into the game, but the Dallas Mavericks managed to secure a 109-99 victory.

Regarding Doncic’s condition moving forward, it remains uncertain. Dallas is scheduled to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.

“We’ll have a better answer (Thursday),” stated Dallas coach Jason Kidd, as reported by the Associated Press. “This is a fluid thing. This thing is being talked about now.”

It would be unexpected to see Doncic on the court for Thursday’s game against the Thunder. Hamstring injuries can be complex and may require a significant recovery period. Given the stage of the season, the Mavericks are unlikely to take any risks, even with a minor injury. The duration of Doncic’s absence remains unclear as of Wednesday night.

Kyrie Irving led Dallas with 23 points and 10 assists, while Doncic contributed 21 points and nine assists. Jonathan Kuminga led the Warriors with 27 points, as they continued to face scoring challenges in the absence of Stephen Curry, who is sidelined with a sprained ankle but could potentially return for Saturday’s game against the Lakers.
