Several luxury timepieces from the personal collection of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, including two standout watches, will be featured in an upcoming auction by Christie’s.

While the final lots are yet to be revealed, the auction will include two watches of exceptional significance and extraordinary provenance. One notable highlight is a unique white gold AP Royal Oak chronograph, presenting a rare opportunity to own a timepiece with a remarkable history.

This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was specially commissioned as a gift for Schumacher by Jean Todt, his mentor during his early years at Ferrari, commemorating his six Formula 1 victories at that time.

The 60-second sub at six o’clock on its custom dial showcases Ferrari’s iconic prancing horse insignia, while the 30-minute counter at three o’clock has six tiny stars, one for each of Schumacher’s World Championship victories by 2003. On the 12-hour subdial at nine o’clock is a picture of Schumacher’s red racing helmet.

The rear of the case for this item has an etched dedication from Todt to Schumacher.

Watch aficionados and collectors of fine timepieces may also be drawn to a distinctive F.P. Journe Vagabondage 1 Model watch with an inscribed dedication on the 18k gold mechanism.

The striking red dial of the watch features symbols representing each of Schumacher’s seven F1 World Championship victories, including his racing helmet and the iconic Ferrari emblem.

Although the official pre-sale estimates have not yet been disclosed, it is anticipated that the Vagabondage will command a price exceeding CHF 1 million. These watches are part of a collection being auctioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Schumacher’s first championship win. The auction will take place as part of a Rare Watch event at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.

Rémi Guillemin, Christie’s Head of Watches for Europe and the US, expressed gratitude to the Schumacher Family for entrusting Christie’s with these timepieces and for their desire to share them with passionate collectors worldwide. Guillemin remarked, “We are honored to present these iconic and unique timepieces from one of the most celebrated legends of Formula One. It’s an extraordinary moment for both watch enthusiasts and F1 fans alike.”
