Mike Dodds may now miss the remainder of the season without the “excellent” Sunderland ace.

It looks like one Sunderland player could be out for the remainder of the campaign.
This season, injuries have plagued Sunderland, and it’s not the first time.
Their inability to advance to the play-off final at this time last year may have been attributed to their unsatisfactory injury record; in their second-leg loss to Luton Town, they were forced to start Patrick Roberts at right back.
Even while the Black Cats have mostly taken responsibility for their shape, their ongoing reliance on the medical personnel hasn’t benefited them either.
At some point throughout the season, Niall Huggins, Dennis Cirkin, Jenson Seelt, Aji Alese, Corry Evans, Elliot Embleton, Jack Clarke, and Bradley Dack have all sustained protracted injuries.
While a number of key players look to be gradually returning before the end of the campaign, there is one star who we may not see until pre-season in the summer.
Nazariy Rusyn has been out of action since making a cameo in the 4-2 defeat to Southampton last month.
25-year-old isn’t even ‘close’ to full fitness
The Ukrainian striker has now missed four games in a row in the Championship, and Mike Dodds has now provided a worrying update on his fitness.
This implies that he might be out for an additional month, since Sunderland is scheduled to play Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season.
Why Nazariy Rusyn might be persuaded to leave Sunderland
Despite having only two goals for the Black Cats, Nazariy Rusyn was regarded as the team’s finest striker before to his injury, which illustrates the high bar we have set for ourselves.
Rusyn might have had an excellent chance to score some goals and get ready for next year during the games that remained, since we really don’t have anything to play for right now.
On the other hand, the “excellent” 25-year-old feels as though his absence represents a significant regression.
Rusyn might drop in the hierarchy if Sunderland looks to add a goal striker with experience this summer.
Although I wouldn’t blame him if he was thinking about his future with the team, I would much prefer see him play more minutes than Eliezer Mayenda or Luis Hemir Semedo the following season.
