Duke basketball appears to have started focusing on possible targets to help fill out the roster for the upcoming season, as evidenced by the last several players that have entered the transfer portal during the past week.

Following the acquisition of two four-star transfer forwards in the form of Mason Gillis and Maliq Brown, it seems that Jon Scheyer is intent on bringing in another impact player, this time a guard.

Higher-level transfers like Koby Brea and Lamont Butler haven’t fit in for the Blue Devils. However, it’s possible that they are currently searching for a seasoned player to relieve him or her.

In light of this, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports revealed on Wednesday that Jordan Ivy-Curry, a transfer from UTSA, has been contacted by Duke.

Ivy-Curry withdrew his promise to play for Virginia Tech on Monday, after having first committed to the team earlier in the offseason.

According to Rothstein, the 6-foot-3 guard has received offers from a number of additional schools since reentering the portal, including Florida State, Grand Canyon, Kansas, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas A&M, and UCF.

The native of Texas participated in three collegiate basketball seasons at UTSA and one at Pacific. Before moving on to Pacific, he played two seasons at UTSA to start his career. He rejoined the Roadrunners a year later.
