Five first-team players for Sunderland’s match against Leeds United at Elland Road are expected to be absent, according to the Black Cats’ official website.

One of the first-team players absent is Niall Huggins, a graduate of the Leeds academy, who is still recovering from a serious injury.

Due to an injury that prevented him from participating in full training, Nazariy Rusyn, a natural striker option, will not be included in the starting lineup.

Like the two players before them, Elliot Embleton, Dennis Cirkin, and Jenson Seelt are certain to miss time due to injuries.

Aji Alese and Bradley Dack, who the Black Cats welcomed back in their draw with Bristol City, are expected to be involved at Elland Road.

It should be an exciting Championship match, although Leeds have their own worries.

How are Leeds United and Sunderland going to lineup?
Given Sunderland’s numerous injury issues and lack of a proven striker, Daniel Farke’s team might want to start with an offensive lineup.

Injuries are one of the obstacles associated with the promotion, as veteran Ethan Ampadu appears sick and will likely miss out.

Due to this, he might be replaced at center half by the more seasoned Liam Cooper or the younger Charlie Cresswell.

There has also been discussion regarding the form of Patrick Bamford in recent weeks. After a goal last time out for Joel Piroe, he may be in line to start at Elland Road.

In a clash against fellow promotion chasers, Southampton, Sunderland lost 4-2 as the Saints clocked up over 20 shots throughout according to FotMob.

With injuries to their backline, there will be an opportunity for the Whites to get at them and create plenty of chances.

The form of stars like Crysencio Summerville and Dan James will pose a problem for the away side’s back line no doubt.
