For almost a year now, there has been uncertainty surrounding the status of former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennnett with the Los Angeles Rams. The former Bulldog’s return to the team in 2024 has become a question after he left for unspecified reasons. Few answers came from Sean McVay’s most recent press conference.

Fans at Sanford Stadium will be able to purchase and consume beer this season, according to a release from the school. Georgia is the last SEC school to permit alcohol sales inside the stadium. Patrons will be able to buy beer and seltzer but at this time there are no plans to expand the offerings.

The Georgia basketball team lost to the SEC-leading Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday night, 85-76, after blowing a 16-point lead and falling short against yet another highly regarded opponent. Georgia now stands at 14-7 overall and 4-4 in the SEC after the loss.

Further News about the Georgia Bulldogs
James Cook, a running back for the Buffalo Bills now, took a jab at the College Football Playoff committee for what he saw as their perceived exclusion of Georgia from the playoffs the previous year. Cook compared this year’s 13-1 squad to the 2021 squad that lost the same SEC Championship game to Alabama but went on to win the national championship, saying, “They didn’t want to see us go back-to-back-to-back.”

Sports Illustrated currently lists four former Bulldogs among the top 50 prospects for the NFL draft. Wide receiver Ladd McConkey, defensive back Karmari Lassiter, offensive lineman Amarius Mims, and tight end Brock Bowers are all currently predicted to go in the first two rounds of the draft.

Additional collegiate athletics news
Iowa basketball debut Caitlin Clark’s 35-point performance against Northwestern has officially vaulted her to the second spot on the women’s all-time scoring list. She is currently on track to surpass Kelsey Plum, the former Washington star,’s all-time record.

Future plans for collegiate athletics may be determined by the State of Tennessee’s federal lawsuit against the NCAA. The complaint contends that the NCAA is “violating federal antitrust laws by limiting a student athlete’s earning potential by forcing them to commit to a school before knowing their NIL potential at that school.”
