News About The Rams: PFWA Names Aaron Donald & Kyren Williams To Their 2023 All-NFL & All-NFC Teams

The Los Angeles Rams declared that Kyren Williams and Aaron Donald were selected for the 2023 All-NFC and 2023 All-NFL teams by the Professional Football Writers of America.

Breaking a tie with former defensive lineman and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy White for the most selections at the position, Donald has been named to the PFWA All-NFL team eight times. Despite having a less productive year overall, Donald still managed to produce eight sacks, 53 total tackles, and 23 quarterback hits.

Despite being selected for his tenth consecutive Pro Bowl, Donald will not be playing because of an injury. In addition, he was selected for the NFL’s First-Team All-Pro roster. The other defensive tackle to make the All-NFL team was Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the meantime, following a stellar 2023 season, Kyren Williams was selected for the first time in his career to the PFWA squads. Following Cam Akers’ trade to the Minnesota Vikings, Williams assumed the position as lead back for the Rams, and he made the most of it.

Williams had a high-ankle ailment that kept him out of four games, but he still finished second in the league in run yards (1,144). After missing five games, the running back became the first player in NFL history to finish in the top three in rushing yards. He also became Los Angeles’ first player to rush for 1000 yards since Todd Gurley in 2018.

Williams was named to the Pro Bowl roster, just like Donald, although he is questionable for the game because he had hand surgery after the Detroit Lions defeated the team in the Wild Card Round. Williams’ opponent for the running back spot on the All-NFL and All-NFC teams was Christian McCaffrey.

Although Donald and Williams received recognition for their seasons, Puka Nacua was overlooked following his amazing rookie campaign. Tyreek Hill and Lamb were selected to the All-NFL team, while Amon-Ra St. Brown and CeeDee Lamb were awarded berths on the PFWA All-NFC team.

Rob Havenstein thinks the inexperienced Rams roster will help them.

Since the Rams cut a number of veterans with large contracts from their squad, few people took them seriously heading into the season. In order to get through the season, L.A. chose to rely more on its rookies and young players, and they performed better than expected.

One of the few senior holdovers assigned to mentor his younger colleagues was Rob Havenstein, who thinks the roster will gain from having seen both the regular season and the playoffs.
