NEWS: Bulls Allegedly Made Zach LaVine An Offer To The West Team

Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls has appeared to be on the trade market for a few seasons, but this season, there has been a lot more talk about him, and it appears that they might be prepared to part with him.

The two-time All-Star guard has reportedly drawn interest from a number of teams, and with three days left until the trade deadline, one team has actually received an offer from Chicago involving him.

Jake Fischer identified that team as the Houston Rockets, and the Bulls have asked for a package including Jalen Green in return, per NBACentral.

LaVine has had a difficult season. He just sustained a foot injury that will keep him out of the game for the remainder of it, which will likely reduce his market value or possibly render him immobile.

He shot 45.2 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from 3-point range, which are much lower percentages than his career averages, and averaged 19.5 points per game.

He should still have a lot left in the tank at age 28, but his injury history, defense, and overall impact are all causes for concern.

LaVine is perceived by some as a traditional “empty calories” player who will score baskets and produce a few highlight plays but won’t have a significant positive impact on his team.

Chicago is currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 23-27 record, but as things stand, the team is stuck in the unfortunate position of being mediocre with no real room for improvement.

Consequently, in order for them to become extremely competitive over the course of the next few years, they may need to trade one or more of their key players, including LaVine.
