NEWS: Chairman David Koch is congratulated by Port Adelaide after receiving the Order of Australia Medal.

David Koch is congratulated by the Port Adelaide Football Club on receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia (AM).

The Port Adelaide Football Club extends its congratulations to David Koch on receiving the Australian Medal of Merit (AM).

After more than 20 years in TV and media, Mr. Koch is awarded the AM for his substantial contributions to economic journalism, media as a television presenter, community service, and charitable work. He also received the AM for his long-standing and ardent advocacy and fundraising efforts for various causes and charitable organizations.

Together with DonateLife, Mr. Koch spearheaded a campaign that resulted in the federal government creating the Organ and Tissue Authority, of which he currently serves as Chairman and is in charge of managing Australia’s organ transplant program.

In addition, he has long served as an ambassador for Youth Off The Streets, a nonprofit organization. In 2011, he inaugurated the Koch Centre for Youth Learning in Sydney’s Macquarie Fields.

The center, named for Mr. Koch and his wife Libby, gives young people a chance to interact with others, partake in constructive activities, and have access to essential educational resources. He has also significantly increased public awareness of glaucoma, an eye condition.

Since 2012, Mr. Koch has served as the voluntary Chairman of the Port Adelaide Football Club, giving generously of his time and knowledge to oversee the club’s Board.

The Port Adelaide Football Club’s board, employees, and players would like to thank David and congratulate him on this well-deserved distinction.
