On the media day of the ATP 250 in Geneva, the Serbian winner discussed his future.

On the eve of his second round match at the ATP 250 tournament in Geneva (he will play today, in a few minutes – ed.), Novak Djokovic spoke to the media about a variety of topics, including the injuries Rafael Nadal is suffering from in the latter stages of his career and his expectations for himself as a tennis player. Nole doesn’t think retirement is imminent, so he hopes to be in good physical shape for a little longer.
“I feel fortunate when I consider my career and I am sorry for all of Nadal’s injuries. Because I enjoy this sport so much and don’t feel like retiring, I plan to continue being in shape for a little while more. “I acknowledge that I haven’t started the season off well, but I’ll work to find the right sensations once more,” Djokovic continued, expressing his passion for the game that brought him fame.

The Serbian chose to take the wild card that the Gonet Geneva Open organizers offered him after he was eliminated at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome. As I mentioned at the opening of the post, he will face Yannick Hanfmann in a few hours. The motivational component is one of the factors that is taken into account in the talks about Novak Djokovic’s bad time. Early in the season, the Serbian did not seem to be as motivated as he had been on numerous previous occasions, and some media outlets have even conjectured that he would retire at the end of this campaign.

This psychological battle between the young and adult Novak was revealed by Djokovic during his appearance on an episode of Nick Kyrgios’ Good Trouble podcast during the start of the Australian Open.

“The Little Novak, a four-year-old Serbian boy who began playing tennis in Kopaonik, continues to be hungry and devoted to the game. However, there is also the more experienced Novak, a husband and father, who asserts that life is about more than just marriage and children. I really miss my kids,” Nole remarked.
