The Ohio State football team made an offer for Jonas Williams on Saturday, making him their fifth quarterback in the 2026 class.

Williams is one of the top Illinois players in the rankings. According to two of the most important recruiting databases, he is a four-star prospect. On3 currently ranks him as the ninth quarterback in the class, while Rivals presently ranks him as the sixth quarterback.

Following his sophomore campaign, Patton Fitzpatrick of Prep Redzone evaluated the young, gifted quarterback and said the following:

The only sophomore selected to the 8A All-State Honorable Mention Team was the 6’3, 185-pound quarterback from Bolingbrook. This season, Williams amassed 2,950 yards and 31 touchdowns, solidifying his status as a state celebrity. Williams can sling the rock, to put it simply. His arm strength, movement, and accuracy are exceptional, particularly when he throws on the run.

Right now, it looks like Big Ten teams will compete for Williams’ recruits. Of the 16 offers he presently has, eight are from Big Ten schools, including Michigan, Purdue, and Michigan State.
