Tarvos Alford, a highly sought-after 4-star linebacker prospect from Vero Beach, Florida, recently visited Ohio State University during their spring practice session. This visit included observing a scrimmage, providing Alford with a firsthand look at the Buckeyes in action.

Alford, who had previously announced his final six schools as Ohio State, Miami, Florida, Florida State, UCF, and Tennessee, is set to make his commitment announcement on March 30 at 6:30 pm ET. His visit to Ohio State just before his commitment date was reportedly a positive one.

The Buckeyes are among the top contenders for Alford’s commitment, and his visit to Ohio State likely played a significant role in his decision-making process. With his commitment announcement looming, Buckeye fans eagerly await his decision, hoping that his positive experience during the visit translates into a commitment to Ohio State.

Ohio State’s victory over Virginia Tech in the NIT second-round game was marked by a remarkable display of resilience and maturity, according to coach Jake Diebler. Despite facing numerous stops and starts due to fouls, the Buckeyes maintained their composure and toughness throughout the game. Diebler credited his team’s collective growth and emphasized their ability to stay aggressive and move past mistakes.

The victory propelled Ohio State (22-13) into the third round, where they would face the winner of the Sunday game between Georgia and Wake Forest. Diebler expressed a preference for playing at home, highlighting the enthusiastic support of Buckeye Nation, which energized the team.

Leading the charge for Ohio State was forward Jamison Battle, who delivered a stellar performance with 21 points and 10 rebounds, showcasing his improvement in drawing fouls and converting free throws. Center Felix Okpara contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots, while guards Bruce Thornton and Dale Bonner added 12 points each. Despite facing injuries to key players like Roddy Gayle Jr. and Thornton, the Buckeyes demonstrated depth and resilience to secure the win.

Despite a strong effort from Virginia Tech, led by Hunter Cattour and Sean Pedulla, Ohio State’s cohesive performance and determination proved decisive in advancing to the next round of the tournament.
