Other NBA teams may be interested in hiring Chauncey Billups, the coach of the Trail Blazers.
Chauncey Billups, the coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, might have opportunities elsewhere if he and the team part ways this offseason, despite his coaching record. According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, sources within the league suggest that other teams are keeping an eye on the situation between Billups and the Blazers, considering him as a potential candidate for coaching positions. Prior to the postseason, an NBA source mentioned to The Oregonian/OregonLive that Billups could be considered for coaching roles by playoff teams eliminated early on. However, it’s improbable that Billups would be inclined to leave Portland for another team in a rebuilding phase.
In discussions during exit interviews on April 15, Billups expressed his frustration with constant losses, having endured a challenging three seasons marked by roster changes, injuries, and deliberate tanking, amassing a record of 81-165.
