Patrick Mahomes expressed his excitement about the Kansas City Chiefs signing wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown during an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter on March 16. Mahomes emphasized Brown’s dynamic playmaking ability and readiness to contribute, stating that they’ve already connected and plan to have numerous throwing sessions together to keep their momentum going. He also humorously referenced winning the soccer championship with the NWSL’s Kansas City Current before aiming for another Super Bowl appearance.

Patrick Mahomes Elated Over Chiefs Signing WR Marquise Brown

The Chiefs received high praise for the signing of Brown, with PFF’s Brad Spielberger giving them an A+ grade based on the contract and Brown’s fit in their offense. Spielberger noted Brown’s potential to excel alongside Mahomes, especially given his speed and intermediate separation skills. Brown’s versatility to play various receiver positions and his success on different routes make him a valuable addition to the Chiefs’ offense, particularly in addressing their need for downfield plays.

Since 2020, Marquise Brown has consistently demonstrated exceptional speed, with only Tyreek Hill surpassing him in terms of running fast routes. Brown’s speed, evidenced by his 4.27 40-yard dash time, adds a dynamic dimension to the Chiefs’ offense.

Currently, the Chiefs’ wide receiver group includes Brown, along with several other talented players. Despite Brown’s addition, the team is expected to continue bolstering their receiving corps through free agency or the upcoming NFL draft.
